MERCY CONVENT, MUKKUDAM

Sisters of St. Martha started Mercy Convent at Mukkudam, a village 10 km away from Adimali, Idukki with the intention of encouraging vocations. The people of this area are mostly farmers but blessed with thick forests and beautiful landscape. Mar. George Punnakkottil the Bishop of Kothamangalam Diocese inaugurated its blessing On October 13, 2002. Later, we started a boarding house (Balabhavan) for girls who were otherwise unable to have proper food and education in their homes. We support children in developing the skills, the knowledge, and the dispositions that will allow them to be responsible, contributing members of their community. Our sisters also work in the L. P. School Mukkudam and involve in the pastoral and social service ministries of the parish.
